Privacy
Data we keep: your email address, your municipality, your radius, your trades and your language, to send you the alert; if you give them, your company and how you heard about us; the name of the site you come from, without the page address. Your IP address is only used to curb abuse: it is deleted from the database after one day, then from the backup copies when those are deleted in turn.
Hosting and email: Infomaniak, in Switzerland (the Kranli server and its mailbox).
Payment: if you subscribe, it goes through Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, in Ireland, with which Kranli has its contract. Some data also goes to the United States, to Stripe, Inc., which takes part in the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Stripe also uses standard contractual clauses. Kranli never sees your card number.
Cookies and storage: a single session cookie, “kranli_session”, set when you log in to your area so that you stay logged in; and the language you choose, kept in your browser. Nothing else: no cookies on public pages, no third-party audience measurement.
What you do in Kranli: the job details you open, the jobs you follow, your reminders, your “Not for me” answers, your pauses, your settings changes and the steps of your payment are kept with your account, to sort your next alerts and to count what is useful. They are used only by Kranli: they are neither sold nor passed on to anyone else, and they are deleted with your account. Our emails contain no tracking pixel.
Internal messages: at each step of your account (sign-up, trial, subscription, payment, cancellation, unsubscribing), Kranli lets its publisher know with a Telegram message. That message contains neither your email address, nor your name, nor your company’s: only a subscriber number, your trades, your canton, the relevant dates and, for a payment, its amount.
Images and maps: the aerial photos in alerts and on job pages, and the maps on municipality pages, come from swisstopo (Federal Office of Topography). To show them, your browser or email program contacts its servers directly, and they see your IP address.
Unsubscribe in one click from any alert; your data is then deleted within 30 days after you unsubscribe, or after the end of the period already paid for if that comes later. If your trial ends without a subscription, it is deleted 30 days after the trial ends.
Only these remain, without your address: overall figures, and the accounting records the law requires us to keep for ten years. Stripe keeps its own payment records.
The official publications Kranli draws on may name private individuals, such as applicants or owners. Kranli never takes the source fields that name these people (only companies behind a project are kept) and filters the descriptions; if a name gets through anyway, we remove it on simple request to the address below. The raw copy of the sources is deleted 120 days after it is collected, and the address of the building site is removed from the database 12 months after the application was filed; the municipality, the description, the position on the map and the companies behind the project remain.
The alerts sent to subscribing companies whose trade and area match may give the address of a building site, taken from the official publication. If it is your building site and you do not want it to be reported, write to us: we remove it from all alerts and from our pages.
Backup copies: the database is copied every night, and its copies, kept in Switzerland, are deleted in turn after about a fortnight. What we delete (your account after you unsubscribe, IP addresses, building-site addresses) thus also disappears from the copies.
Your rights: with a simple request to the address below, you can find out what data we keep about you and ask us to correct or delete it.
